JULY 13, 2009 - KELSEY BREAKS THROUGH AT MSR CRESSON

Georgetown Texas rider Danny Kelsey provided a breakout performance at MSR Cresson and posted three wins at Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, Texas. The talented Texan has been consistently viewed as one of the CMRA's most talented riders, but combined with ill-timed mechanical failures and some bad fortune it has not transitioned into the results that Kelsey, Marcus McBain , and the team sponsors have believed are possible.

Kelsey decided this would be the weekend to "shake the monkey off his back" and scored his first hat trick as an expert with wins A Superstock, C Superstock, and C Superbike against tough CMRA competition.

Danny has consistently been a top 5 rider in almost every race he enters and usually runs a pace worthy of
race wins, but whenever the #34 lines up on his 600cc Superstock machine it seems his competitors always "ride a little tougher" and the first race exemplified that. Danny lead the first 6 laps of the B Superstock race with a 750cc mounted rider using his advantage to take the lead a lap from the end of the race. That rider would run 2 seconds a lap slower in every other race on Sunday, but it exemplified what Kelsey faces every time he lines up on the grid.

After the first race the team realized they had everything going right despite the failure to win the first race of the day. The next race would provide the reward that Kesley and the Team have pursued since moving to the expert ranks. Lined up in arguably the historically toughest class in the CMRA, the C Superstock race

had all of the hungry "up and comers" as well as veterans like Ty Howard. Kelsey dropped the hammer off the line and lead the race, but perennial CMRA champion Ty Howard was poised to pass Kelsey it appeared. Never more than a second behind Kelsey, Howard was stymied and Kelsey was able to hold on to a "wire to wire" win by .183 seconds! The results were mirrored in the A Superstock race.

The weekend was a big success and Kelsey won the C Superbike race won by over 13 seconds! Danny and the team were ecstatic after finally breaking through with big wins and fast laptimes.
