MARCH 2, 2012 - GSXR DYNOJET/POWER COMMANDER BRACKET
In the several years RPS has been running the team and bikes, the riders and team have used Dynojet products to make the most amount of horsepower while ensuring machine durability. It has been the most cost effective way to gain significant horsepower without having to spend thousands of dollars in motor work. Over the year(s), we have had 2 power commander issues. BOTH were caused because after crashes/repair, the Power Commander products were "re-installed" with "zip ties".
The RPS team generally leaves the Power Commander installation to the engine/dyno mechanic. The result is we usually receive the Power Commander installed with zip ties. This is usually OK, but the team no longer will accept that in light of last race's issue. (Related Story)
After the last race, RPS Team Manager Marcus McBain inspected
the wires and modules and realized that serious issues were being caused by constant
movement of the Dynojet products. Believing in the product and wanting to
prevent any further issues, approximately $5.00 in parts were used to make a
bracket to ensure the Power Commander/Auto-Tune/Quick-Shifter hardware will not
be compromised again due to poor installation. Enclosed are diagrams
showing the RPSRaceTeam.com solution. Click on the image(s) to see more:
