About RPSRaceTeam.com

The RPSRaceTeam.com racing team is the evolving effort of Marcus McBain that began in 2002 when he first began training riders. Beginning with a successful school and then moving on to become the top Traxxion Dynamics dealer in the country by 2004, Marcus primarily focused on developing top talent in the Texas region at the end of 2005. In 2006, RPS closed to the public and Marcus McBain focused on running the team and his motorsports park project (Liberty Motorsports Park) which has incorporated a very innovative public financing structure.

In 2008, Marcus began to exclusively work with Danny Kelsey and the two have operated the team and efforts as a mutual effort since then. Marcus McBain has strong experience working with factory teams, writing technical dissertations, manufacturer tire testing, magazine performance articles, broadcast radio, media interviews, and team management, while Kelsey is a former professional Clear Channel Arenacross series rider as well as a champion motocross rider. The team is a very capable and potent combination.  Enclosed is a detailed history of RPS, its accomplishments, and its riders.

RPSRaceTeam.com Racing & Development Strategy

It is important for the racers and sponsors of the RPSRaceTeam.com effort that racers finish races and finish well so that maximum exposure is provided (for the sponsors and riders) as well a standard of consistent excellence. RPS focuses on training riders to styles of the famous greats of roadracing and how Marcus McBain raced over 20 years ago, which focuses on using the lower body to drive motorcycle through a turn. In addition, McBain custom builds the shocks and forks to provide the most versatile suspension for the rider. Engines are only lightly modified to keep costs down and ensure reliability. Lastly, Marcus McBain mentors the riders on the decision making process and racing so that the best results are attained with the lowest cost to the sponsors and team.

The result of the teams racing strategy is that the seven RPS team riders have lined up for 546 races and have had less than 6 crashes during those races from 2005 until present. All this while winning 130 races, scoring 198 podium positions, and winning over 25 regional titles & national titles. This is a phenomenal achievement and it underscores how “doing it right” is safer and more cost effective.
